Home Energy Auditor I

We are looking for an Energy Auditor to provide services throughout the DC-metro area. Ecobeco is a member of the Maryland Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, and our auditors are certified by the Building Performance Institute.

We are looking for an entry level Energy Auditor.  We will supply your equipment and we will train and mentor you.  Your work will take place throughout the Metro-DC area with a focus on DC and areas near your residence.

Job Requirements:

  • Car: You must have a valid driver’s license and provide your own transportation to customer locations (you will not be reimbursed for mileage). You will need to make regular visits to our warehouse location in Montgomery County to pick up supplies.
  • Mobility: During the home visit, you will be expected to visit all interior rooms and the attic to obtain a full visual inspection of the home, which may include climbing ladders and/or stairs.  You will NOT need to go on roofs.
  • Some physical strength: You will need to carry approximately 5-7 pounds of equipment during the inspection, and you may need to carry approximately 40 pounds of equipment from your car to the household (including blower door fan).
  • Background Check: Some of our programs prohibit people with criminal records from performing work inside homes. Please advise us during your interview if this is a concern.

Qualifications:

  • Great verbal communication skills and listening skills
  • Building Performance Institute or RESNET certification a plus
  • Sales experience a plus
  • Home Improvement experience a plus
  • Computer literacy required

Compensation:
This is an entry-level position that does not include benefits.  Salary will be a combination of fixed and commissions with expected earnings of around $40K.

Home Energy Auditor II

We are looking for an Energy Auditor who either has or is in a position to obtain a Maryland Home Improvement Contractors License.  We will supply your equipment and we will train and mentor you.  Your work will take place throughout the Metro-DC area with a focus on DC and areas near your residence.

Operations and Marketing Manager Part-Time (25 - 30 hrs /week)

The ecobeco Operations and Marketing Manager will manage the day to day operations of the business with responsibility for ensuring high quality customer service throughout the energy audit through home retrofit process. You will manage customer touch points, including inbound sales, managing the master schedule, and communicating with customers via emails and phone calls to ensure customers are informed and excited about our services. You must love talking on the phone! This person must be able to work 5 days per week either on-site or from home during core business hours (10am - 3pm). You will also have partial responsibility for marketing outreach such as coordinating events, developing marketing materials, and ensuring we have sufficient materials on hand when we go to marketing events.

Commercial LED Account Manager

ecobeco is expanding our offerings to include LED lighting for commercial customers. Did you know hospitals spend about half their electric bill on lighting? Retail establishments spend over 1/3 on lighting? Warehouses spend over 22% on lighting? The newest LEDs offer excellent performance along with compelling economics for any commercial building. Our partnership with a leading lighting supplier provides financing to customers so they can say YES! today.

ecobeco will train you in lighting technology and provide you with LED samples and sales materials. You will be responsible to generate leads, make sales calls, create the purchase order, and get the contract signed. Pricing and contract negotiation will be handled directly by the supplier. We will target hospitals, hotels, restaurants, retail, warehouses and manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Great verbal communication skills and listening skills
  • Sales experience - commercial lighting strongly preferred
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work independently
  • A strong network of friends and colleagues who can introduce you to facilities managers and decision-makers.
  • Computer literacy using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Compensation:
This is a commission-only position. Please be aware that due to long lead times, it may be months before you can close a deal and develop a deal flow. Due to the size of these deals, it takes just a few sales per month to make a very rewarding career. Due to these long lead times, we expect both part-time (10-20 hrs per week) and full-time candidates can perform this job successfully. We strongly encourage part-time applicants who are looking to supplement their income.


Sales/Marketing Interns

The Sales and Marketing Interns will perform on-line marketing activities including social networking, electronic newsletter, google ad words and google analytics. Interns may also assist with appointment scheduling and inbound telesales with sales commission opportunity. Each intern should work 16-20 hours per week, and much of the work can occur from home.

Qualifications: Very strong communication skills, interest in building science, knowledge or ability to learn facebook, constant contact, and google analytics. Access to high speed internet connection if working at home.

Compensation: A monthly stipend plus commission opportunity. Internship duration would be agreed at time of offer.
