Rockville, MD. (August 01, 2009) — ecobeco and Clean Currents have teamed up to help home owners in the DC Metro area identify ways to conserve energy at home while providing an evaluation of the home’s potential to host renewable solar energy.

During the 90 -120 minute visit to the home, an ecobeco energy efficiency expert, also called an “ecoAdvocates”, will conduct a walkthrough of a consumer’s home.  The ecoAdvocate will identify various energy saving measures that a consumer can take to reduce the household’s energy consumption. The ecoAdvocates will also discuss applicable incentives and tax credits that can help the home owner implement efficiency solutions.

The renewable energy portion of ecoAssessment focuses on the economics and viability of using renewable energy options to address the customer’s electric power needs. This includes an evaluation of the home for solar photovoltaic panels. Additionally, customers in Maryland and the District of Columbia will be educated on the advantages of purchasing wind power through Clean Currents’ Chesapeake Green program. Consumers that chose to sign up for Chesapeake Green within seven days of their ecoAssessment will also receive a $50 rebate.

This new service will cost $99.99 for standard customers. Those consumers that are already existing Clean Currents Chesapeake Green subscribers receive this service at a discounted rate of $49.99.
